Great Uncle Bulgaria visits Wharfedale Wombles

In our support for Keep Britain Tidy’s Great British Spring Clean, Great Uncle Bulgaria headed to Burley-in-Wharfedale to join in on a litter-pick.

“This is the eighth year that the Wharfedale Wombles have participated in Keep Britain Tidy’s Great British Spring Clean, but it’s our first year doing so as part of The Wombles Community,” said Loraine Hughes, Lead Wharfedale Womble. “The entire community is proud to welcome Great Uncle Bulgaria to our lovely village. We take his wisdom to heart in the way we work together on various eco-led projects. While our main focus is litter-picking, we also strive to promote sustainability by raising awareness about preventing litter, as well as encouraging reusing, renovation, repairing, and recycling.”
