Safeguarding Policy
Our safeguarding policy can be found here.
The purpose of this policy statement is:
• To protect children and young people who receive our services from harm. This may include the children of adults who use our services.
• To provide staff and volunteers, as well as children and young people and their families with principles that guide our approach to safeguarding and child protection.
This safeguarding policy applies to anyone working on our behalf, including our trustees and other volunteers.
Partner organisations will be required to have their own safeguarding procedures that must, as a minimum, meet the standards outlined below, and include any additional legal or regulatory requirements specific to their work. For the avoidance of doubt, the charity has no safeguarding responsibility to any of the local litter picking groups who may have signed up to the charity’s register.
We believe that:
• Nobody who is involved in or who may benefit from our work should ever experience abuse, harm, neglect or exploitation.
• We all have a responsibility to promote the welfare of all of our staff and volunteers, to keep them safe and to work in a way that protects them.
• We all have a collective responsibility for creating a culture in which our people not only feel safe, but also able to speak up, if they have any concerns.
